The biggest change for me both personally and professionally took place when my next-door neighbor (a psychiatrist and hypnotherapist) offered to hypnotize me. Although excited to experience hypnosis, I have to admit I had my reservations. Some thoughts that ran through my head were:
- would I do or say anything to embarrass myself?
- would I be aware of what was going on?
- would I remember everything afterwards?
I am relieved to say that I was completely aware at all times of what was going on. I did not say or do anything that I did not want to say or do, and I remembered everything afterwards. It was after this session that I knew hypnosis was the ultimate way to bridge the gap between knowing something cognitively (e.g. I should) yet struggling with it emotionally (e.g. I’m scared).
How does hypnosis bridge this gap and bring it all together? In hypnosis, you are guided into a deeply relaxed and calm state often referred to as a trance. In this comfortable trance-like state, you are able to let go of outside interference (self-sabotaging thoughts) and tune into your subconscious. The subconscious (often compared to a computer) stores preprogrammed experiences and feelings around these experiences that we act out consciously. In a hypnotic state we can transform our negative experiences, build positive ones and offer your conscious state better and more optimal resources for you to use/access. This allows you to make better decisions, alleviate fears and empowers you to create your best life.
For me personally, I have manifested many great things in my life due to the power of hypnosis and I wish the same for you.
